District 9 Review

With a Budget of 30 million dollars Neil Blomkamp and Peter Jackson put forth one hell of collaboration. In a not too distant future, extraterrestrials take an unexpected trip to earth and end up staying for 28 years. In most alien movies most of the viewing audience will cheer for the home team, but in this movie it’s different. I found myself waiting for the earthling’s comeuppance, I felt I could relate to and more importantly felt sorry for these home-sick creatures. The movie serves as a satire to apartheid, a form of segregation practiced in South Africa in 1948 to 1990. The movie has some funny parts here and there, and starts off slow in the beginning but gains its momentum as soon as the man character undergoes some sort of transformation. A lot of people may not understand this movie and it may not be for the weak at heart. if you don’t like to see things or people get blown up, this may not be the movie for you. (opps! Can you say spoiler)

I didn’t come up with a rating scale as of yet but I give this movie two thumbs up.

Intro to True Blood

I found out about True Blood through a friend. I could never join in on their Vamp talk and often wondered what the big deal was. I never had HBO, but stumble upon the series when my cable provider fucked up, and I gained free premium channels for a month. I watched 1 episode and was instantly hooked. I sat on my ass for two days straight and watched the Sookie Stackhouse adventures unfold right in front of my eyes. The thing that made me want to watch most was the Vampire sex. In the olden days a Vampire would stalk you, cast a spell over you, and then be killed by the local village hero. This concept was different. Vampires are the new gays and they are coming out of the coffin. Vampires are no longer hiding in shadows or our deepest darkest fears they are in our Seven Elevens,(of course after dusk)churches,(crosses don’t hurt them) and even fitness clubs. Don’t worry these Vampires have no need to feed on humans because of a synthetic blood drink made by the Japanese. True Blood isn’t just about Vampires it also has many interconnecting sub stories all within this small Louisianan town called Bon Temps. In a world where Vampire stories are a dime a dozen True Blood definitely stands out on it’s own. In most stories it lacks Vampire sex but this one gives it to you straight and hard. I myself often wonder how Vampire sex would be, but then I snap back to reality and call myself sick for thinking about Vampire penis.

Blood for thought: would a person that has sex with a Vampire be considered a necrophiliac?

You can True Blood on HBO Sundays at 9pm.
All week on Demand!!!

Allow Me To Reintroduce Myself!

Not sure how many people will see this or even read it, but if you so happen to stop by drop me a line. I basically created this blog out of boredom. I'm a big fan of movies, music, television shows, and spoilers. I'm certainly the friend you hate going to the movie with because I'm always giving my input in on the movie, or going to some website and reading about the plot just to get on my friends nerves. I guess I'm the type of person who doesn't like surprises. I know these sites are a dime a dozen, but so what I'm one in a million and I hope to say my blog will be to.

In addition to movies, I will also be writing about True Blood, fake movie trailers found on you tube, things that grind my gears, personal experiences, bars restaurants and cheap clothing and accesories finds....hope you guys dig it.
